Book review

  • The book's conflict is in the beginning with Nailer being stuck in a tank of oil and not being able to get out of it. The story is mostly only day after day of Nailer going to the downed oil tankers and stripping them of their copper wiring and trying to find things that are of worth to him.
  • The problem was resolved by him being thrown rope and dragged out, but he had a rusty blade in him that cut him in his stomach. Pima's mom stitched it up but said that if it had gone even a centimeter more he would have died.
  • I would reccommend this book to a friend because it's about making your place in business and fighting to stay alive day after day by working hard while almost dying.
The book begins with Nailer crawling through the oil tanker searching for wiring for the daily quota. Nailer doesn't pay attention on how far he crawls without looking down and he falls into a pit of oil. He calls for help and his partner comes but she thinks about the amount of money it could bring her, not even thinking about Nailer and saving him. She gets cut of from the crew because she broke the blood oath. The day after this happens a large storm begins. He thinks of abandoning his dad and find higher ground. The storm sweeps the beach clean and all the people who survived the storm meet there. They find a clipper with a girl in it, but the clipper could make them a lot of money.

Question number 3 answers

No I do not constantly re-read what I just read. The narrator does a good job at seperating the actions of all the characters in different scenes. The narrator does a good job at explaining what is going on in every scene. I can imagine myself in most parts of the book, like there is a part where the main character is in a tank of used oil. He moves his hands around to find things to hold on to and he finds a pipe that he throws his arm around and holds there. No, not really even though he explains eveything well. This story is great!

Short story

He had dreams of becoming famous not from sports, but from memes. He had dreams of creating the dankest of memes and having everyone laugh from it. His name is Ethan Alderink, Ethan didn't have the right mindset when he first created dank memes. He traveled accross the world to find inspiration, he wanted to learn the ways of the dankest. He tried to find the dank in everything, but it didn't feel right. He searched for the legend in all the books who had created the most dank memes the world has ever seen, he searched far and wide to find him until one day. He was walking through the streets of Holland and a man passing handed Ethan a note,"Come to Centennial park in five minutes." He must have been mistaken for another man, but never the less he turned around and traveled to the park. He walked up to the same man that had passed him and crossed his arms on the cold steel surround the fountain and he asked
"Who are you?"
"I'm the man you've been searching for"
"Caleb Doctor?"
"Yes, that is me." He removed the hood off his head and showed his face. "I have the ideas you've been searching for."

My perspective on reading

I am a person who reads only when told to, if it's for homework I do it. When I finished the reading required I read nothing more. I still get deep into the book but once I finish, I'm done and leave everything in the book. I love reading because it can expand your imagination and vocabulary but in most cases the imagination that comes to me is fiction and then I start thinking about it more and more. The books can't actually happen like wizards and saving the world from total domination and death. I remember when I was in about 4th grade and my class went to the library to check out books like we normally do every week but for some reason I can't remember I couldn't check out one of the four books I had picked out. I remember crying about like I had to read that book and I couldn't check it out. It took me half an hour to calm down and be fine with the fact that I couldn't check out that book. The most reading I have done has been at home but not recently, mostly now I only read at school. It's probably a 10 to 1 difference of how much time I spend my time reading at school to reading at home. The best I have read had to be "The fall of olympus," it has to be the best book I have ever read. A lot of the fact why is because I was into the series and that was all I read. The worst book has to have been one of the magic tree house books, looking back on it now it always had the same ending. The cliché of them always getting home right before dinner or getting home late.
